Aaron decided to spring a surprise proposal on his girlfriend. He would ask her to marry him in one of their favorite areas, Santa Ynez, CA at Roblar Winery. Aaron and Rebecca dated for about 2 years. Aaron decided it was the perfect time to surprise her with a proposal.
He enlisted the help of Rebecca’s mother, his future mother-in-law, to help him pull off the surprise. The plan was to tell her they were going on a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. As they were driving through Santa Ynez, he would tell Rebecca that they needed to stop to pick up some wine for his sister at Roblar Winery!
They would take a leisurely stroll around the grounds of the property. When he found the right spot, he would pop the question. The couple’s parents would meet them at the winery for lunch and they would all drive home together. We got some great shots of the couple walking through the winery, and the moment Aaron got down on one knee and presented her with the engagement ring.
The proposal went according to plan. The happy couple are preparing for their wedding in 2022! Congratulations Aaron & Rebecca!
The act of surprising your partner with a proposal isn’t a new thing. It’s been around for a long time. Surprise proposals have become a popular tradition with couples who may have briefly talked about marriage, but never set an actual date. Actually, there are not as many proposals that are a surprise as you might think.
Every year between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day (a time known as the Engagement Season), people get engaged and plan spring weddings. The most popular day of the year to get engaged is Christmas Day. Family and friends coming for the holidays can help the couple celebrate.
If you have been planning to ask your partner to marry you and want to do it as a “surprise proposal,” hiring a wedding photographer can help you capture those precious moments forever. Years down the road when you have children together, you can look back on the moments that started it all.
