I’m Renoda Campbell (she/her). I’ve always loved photography and the ability to capture memories and emotions to relive for years to come. As a Black woman in an interracial relationship, I unfortunately know what it’s like to feel discriminated against, judged, and not represented. I want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, celebrated, and beautiful during life’s big moments. That’s why I’m a wedding photographer who works with LGBTQ+ couples, BIPOC couples and couples who believe in being part of an inclusive community.
Your love is beautiful. It’s time we show images of Black love, gay love, interracial love, interfaith love, disabled love, and many other loves mainstream.
There’s a lot I can do with my digital and film cameras, my background in event planning, my sunny personality, and my passion for social justice. But I can’t do this work without YOU.
So you grab your partner, and I’ll grab my camera. Let’s change the world together.
Photos capture tiny moments in time. If I could relive a moment forever — especially a moment from my wedding day — I’d want it to be romantic, unassuming, natural, and full of connection. I take that approach with each shutter click.
My signature style is photojournalistic. I want to capture real, candid moments between you and your partner that visually capture the essence of your passion. To do that, I can’t be an annoying fly on the wall, buzzing and obtrusive, calling attention to myself. Instead, I try to be the butterfly on the wall: graceful, but hiding in the background, making your wedding day a little bit better in my own way.
When it comes to social justice, words aren’t enough. That’s why I’m involved in my community: working with the local community college so that incarcerated men can obtain Associates' degrees, chairing a City of San Luis Obispo Advisory Commission, and serving as team advisor for my fraternity. I’ve been an activist my entire life because we deserve better.
