KJ + Alise showed such excitement to take beach wedding photos. Hours before this session, they shared their intimate wedding vows virtually with family, friends and the Santa Barbara Court House. The couple decided to celebrate their wedding photos at a beach. They chose Montana del Oro State Park in Los Osos, California. Montana del Oro is a popular beach location for San Luis Obispo wedding photographers. The scenic route always leaves me breathless. This calm and beautiful spot beckons tranquility. Visitors appreciate that this area has modern conveniences yet maintains an authentic and natural feeling.

I asked the couple a few questions about their love story:

How did the two of you meet?

“We met in Santa Barbara in January 2009. Alise, a first-year doctoral student at UC Santa Barbara and KJ, interviewed for the program under the same advisor. KJ and I attended a happy hour, spoke briefly, but vividly remembered each other.

We must have done something right in this life! KJ was accepted and we were immediately paired as student mentor-mentee. Technically, we were obligated to hang out, but once we started, we basically never stopped.”

How did you get engaged? Where were you? Who proposed? Did you both propose?

We both proposed 🙂 KJ proposed to Alise camping overlooking the ocean in Santa Barbara. Alise proposed to KJ on top of the Eiffel Tower.

Above all, their playfulness, passion, friendship and lastly, true love for each other showed with every look and touch. It was my goal to show all of these qualities in their images. Alise + KJ’s love for each other really speaks truth that Love is Love.
