Off-Season weddings are becoming more popular due to the influx of more couples getting married. Every summer and fall, love is in the air, and everyone’s mailbox floods with invitations from close friends and family. These seasons have prime weekends that couples opt to get married. You may be thinking about getting married during this time too.
The challenge: Many couples get married around the summer and fall months. You’ll be competing with a lot of people for the best dates, venues, photographers, caterers, and more. This type of competition leads to a great deal of frustration, and no one should be stressed when planning their big day.
While usually not the favored option, dates between January and March are a great time to say “I do.” Helping couples feel at ease on their big day is my jam! I see the benefits opting for a wedding during a different time of year.
Here are a few reasons why an off-season wedding might be the better option:
You have the perfect venue, caterer, photographer, florist, and stylist in mind for your big day, but due to fierce competition, your dream services are booked solid. Having a wedding during the off-season wedding months helps you avoid this disappointing obstacle. Fewer people will be getting married in winter, so you have higher chances of securing the services you want.
During the off-season wedding months, you have the opportunity to get cheaper rates. Many venues offer discounted prices during the winter months, which could help you snag your dream location at a fraction of the cost. You can also get better honeymoon rates!
Scheduling conflicts are more likely to happen in the summer and fall. Not only are people invited to several weddings, but they are also planning vacations, family reunions, and other personal trips. Hosting your wedding during the off-season increases your chances of having more guests RSVP “Yes” to your invitations.
Winter weddings indeed mean colder weather, but winter nuptials could create the opportunity for a very romantic event if you plan it right. Consider an outdoor ceremony with clear crisp air, complete with a candlelight reception and guests contently sipping mulled wine. Getting married during this time will help you avoid a stressful planning experience and enjoy a successful wedding you can remember for years to come.
If you’re considering an off-season wedding, let’s schedule a consultation to discuss your options, and watch the magic happen!
